Across the river, just 17 miles away, is the four-story, Georgian-style
structure built by Daniel Boone and one of his sons, furnished with
authentic pieces of period furniture and handcrafted walnut woodwork.
Also on the property is Boonesfield Village, a living history
recreation.

This hands-on educational center is home to domestic and farm animals.
Three air-conditioned buildings feature interactive exhibits, a gift
shop and a snack bar. The Activity Center has ample space for major
dog shows and demonstrations. Purina Farms is approximately 30

Ten minutes away is this division of Missouri Botanical Garden,
offering an educational visitor center, 5-acre wildflower garden,
native flora and fauna which can be seen while driving or walking
the 13 miles of trails. A naturalist/guide is available. Also on
site is the Bascom Manor House. Built in 1879, this 2-story modified
Italianate-Victorian home is open for tours and exemplifies excellent
woodworking craftsmanship.
