The Washington Historical Society has developed brochures for two walking tours. On these tours you will learn interesting facts about Washington's most historic buildings and the individuals for whom they were constructed. The Walking Tour brochures are available at the Visitors Center.

Across the river, just 17 miles away, is the four-story, Georgian-style structure built by Daniel Boone and one of his sons, furnished with authentic pieces of period furniture and handcrafted walnut woodwork. Also on the property is Boonesfield Village, a living history recreation.

Ten minutes away is this division of Missouri Botanical Garden, offering an educational visitor center, 5-acre wildflower garden, native flora and fauna which can be seen while driving or walking the 13 miles of trails. A naturalist/guide is available. Also on site is the Bascom Manor House. Built in 1879, this 2-story modified Italianate-Victorian home is open for tours and exemplifies excellent woodworking craftsmanship.
